Ice Cave

We run our Ice Cave tours from November to March each year. On this day tour, we focus on accessible Ice caves on the South Coast to get the most out of our day. This also gives us a chance to visit a few prime locations on the way. We start our day with a hotel pick-up in Reykjavik, and from there, we drive along the scenic South Coast of Iceland until we reach our Ice Cave. Notable stops along the way are two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls. The drive is around 2,5 hours each way.
For the ice cave, we will provide all safety gear such as helmets and crampons. You should never enter ice caves without an Icelandic guide and safety equipment as conditions vary from day to day. You need to be wearing good hiking shoes and warm clothes. You also need to be comfortable with walking on uneven and slippery surfaces on the way to the cave and also inside.
Before or after our visit to the ice cave we might visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Skógarfoss waterfalls or other locations based on weather and conditions on the day.
We will provide you with a recommended clothing and equipment list.
