Ice Cave

We run our Ice Cave tours from November to March each year. On this day tour, we focus on accessible Ice caves on the South Coast in the Vik area to get the most out of our day. This also allows us to visit a few prime locations on the way. We start our day with a hotel pick-up in Reykjavik, and from there, we drive along the scenic South Coast of Iceland until we reach our Ice Cave. Notable stops along the way are two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss waterfalls. The drive is around 2,5 – 3 hours each way.

We will provide all safety gear for the ice cave, such as helmets and crampons. You should never enter ice caves without an Iocal registered and trained ice cave guide and safety equipment, as conditions vary daily. You need to be wearing good hiking shoes and warm clothes. You also need to be comfortable with walking on uneven and slippery surfaces on the way to the cave and also inside the cave. The walk to the cave can take around 30 minutes.

Before or after our visit to the ice cave, we might visit the waterfalls and other locations based on the weather and conditions on the day. We might even spot a few horses on our travels.

We will provide you with a recommended clothing and equipment list.
