While guiding is his main role, he also has a passion for capturing the beauty around him — often reaching for his phone to snap a shot or two. His favorite tool may be simple, but his eye for timing and composition ensures he never misses a memorable moment.
About
Kári – Outdoor Enthusiast, Driver Guide & Explorer at Heart
Born and raised in Reykjavík, Iceland, Kári has always had a deep connection to the great outdoors. His passion for nature was sparked early through his involvement with the Scouts, which he joined at just 12 years old — and he’s been exploring ever since.
He spent a season as a hut warden in the beautiful Hellisheiði region, deepening his bond with Iceland’s highlands and rugged landscapes. Fluent in English and German, Kári brings both local knowledge and international friendliness to every journey.
His main passions include jeeps, hiking, and Icelandic nature, along with active involvement in ICE-SAR, Iceland’s search and rescue association. An avid runner and cyclist, he’s even taken on the challenge of the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon multiple times — proof of his adventurous spirit and drive.

Since the age of 17, Kári has been a proud member of ICE-SAR (the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue), where he has played an active role in both national and international missions — including being part of the international response team deployed to Haiti.
His years of hands-on experience with ICE-SAR have given him extensive knowledge of Iceland’s terrain and weather conditions year-round — a vital asset he brings to every tour. Whether he’s navigating challenging highland roads or sharing stories along the way, Kári’s calm confidence and deep familiarity with the land ensure his passengers are always in safe, capable hands.
