8:30 Departure from Reykjavík Your adventure begins as your local guide picks you up in Reykjavík. Climb aboard your custom 4×4 super jeep and get ready for an incredible journey into one of Iceland’s most legendary landscapes.

We will make a pitstop at a coffee shop or at a waterfall before heading into the wilderness, grab pack lunch if you don’t already have it ready.

Heading into the walley As Reykjavík fades behind you, the landscape transforms dramatically. Your guide will share stories and insights about the region as you make your way along Iceland’s famous F-roads towards the Valley of Thor.

Gígjökull Glacier: Lets’ explore the main attractions in Þórsmörk, with our first stop at Gígjökull glacier, the edge of the glacier where landscape dramatically reformed during the volcanic eruption in Eyjafjallajökull in 2010. A great opportunity for a short hike closer to the glaciers edge for a better view for photography.

Stakkholtsgjá canyon, an incredible lush green canyon with fresh river. The canyon is one of the scenes in Game of Thrones. If time allows we can hike all the way into the bottom of the canyon to see a hidden waterfall.

River Crossings Hold on tight! Your super jeep tackles some of Iceland’s iconic glacial river crossings as you push deeper into the highlands. Your guide will walk you through what makes these crossings so unique — and why only a super jeep can get you safely across.

Arrival at Þórsmörk Welcome to the Valley of Thor! Nestled between the glaciers Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Tindfjallajökull, Þórsmörk is a place of extraordinary natural beauty. Your guide will introduce you to the valley, its history, and the incredible forces of nature that shaped it.

Guided Hike through Þórsmörk Lace up your boots and set off on an easy, rewarding guided hike through the valley. Wind through birch woodlands, cross dramatic ridgelines, and soak up panoramic views of glaciers and volcanic peaks that stretch as far as the eye can see. Suitable for all fitness levels, this hike is as enjoyable as it is spectacular.

Lunch & Viewpoint Stop Take a well-earned break and enjoy lunch with one of Iceland’s most dramatic backdrops. (Guests should bring their own packed lunch.) Soak up the atmosphere and let your guide point out the landmarks surrounding you.

Further Exploration & Viewpoints After lunch your guide will take you to some of Þórsmörk’s finest viewpoints, offering sweeping vistas over the valley, the glaciers, and the rugged volcanic landscape that makes this place so utterly unique.
