About
Eyrún Lydía is an Icelandic adventure and nature photographer, videographer and guide with over 10 years of experience in some of Iceland’s wildest landscapes. Her journey began through guiding — after one too many incredible moments captured only on her phone, she picked up a camera and taught herself the craft. It quickly grew into a full career, with work spanning Iceland, Greenland, the UK and Japan, and photography featured in Vogue, Condé Nast and Alpha Universe.
She’s drawn to glaciers, ice, wildlife and remote landscapes — especially the places and moments that are hardest to reach. Fittingly, Eyrún has a habit of getting into the water with what she photographs, from humpback whales in Tonga to Iceland’s glacial waters. If there’s a camera, cold water or wildlife involved, she’s rarely one to say no.
Photography
Self-taught and field-tested, Eyrún’s expertise spans adventure, landscape, wildlife, aerial and underwater photography. A decade of guiding — including glacier guiding and superjeep driving — has given her a rare combination of technical skill and deep knowledge of Icelandic conditions, which she uses to help others find unusual perspectives and enjoy the adventure of getting the shot.
