ITINERARY AND LOCATIONS: As always in Iceland, we will be flexible and adjusted to weather and aurora activity to make the most out of the tour.
DAY 1 (June 12th)
You arrive in Iceland and check in your hotel in Reykjavik, which will already be reserved by your tour operator and included in the price. We meet at the centrally located hotel at 18.00 and go out for a dinner in Reykjavik where we briefly go through the tour itinerary, safety share from your native Icelandic guide and some practical things before we start our adventure in Iceland. If you arrive early in town, you can photograph some of the attractions such as Harpa Concert Hall, Hallgrimskirkja, Sun Voyager or Perlan.
DAY 2 – SNÆFELLSNES
We start early in the morning and travel from Reykjavik to Snæfellsnes peninsula. The whole peninsula is a photographers paradise, with many different seascapes, rock formations, glacier, lava field, birds and even whales.
DAY 3 & 4 – LÁTRABJARG & PUFFINS
We visit Látrabjarg and stay in the area for two nights, explore the coastline, lighthouses, stranded boat and ofcorse we’ll spend a lot of time on the famous sea cliff Látrabjarg which is perhaps the best location to photograph Puffin in Iceland.
DAY 6 – DYNJANDI & KORPUDALUR
The picturesque west fjords are calling us. We will stop at the more jagged coastal peaks and we’ll stop in ample locations to photograph sea stacks, the winding roads and cascading streams down the steep terraced mountains. West fjords are very quiet and isolated, even in summer mongth, so for this part of the tour we will feel like alone on the island, except meeting some local farmers and fishermen. Our hotel is located in an old fishing harbour with spectacular snowy mountain view.
DAY 7, 8 & 9 – STRANDIR, REMOTE FJORDS AND PUFFIN ISLAND
We explore the quiet area of Strandir for couple of days, the area has very unique lanscape and rock formations in the sea, which is ideal for long exposure seascapes. We will take a boat tour to an island with Puffin and other nesting birds.
DAY 10 – STRANDIR, BORGARFJORDUR & HRAUNFOSSAR
DAY 11 – DEPARTURE
Transfer from the hotel in Reykjavik to Keflavik international airport.
